Dostuk / Dustlik border (Osh – Andijan): how to cross in 2026
The crossing to Andijan, Fergana and Tashkent from Osh. One booking, two cars, a name sign on each side: Osh → Tashkent from $280 per car.

- Osh → Tashkent≈400 km · 7–8 h
- Osh → Andijan60 km · 2–2.5 h
- Price per carfrom $120
Dostuk (Kyrgyz side) / Dustlik (Uzbek side) is the main road crossing between Osh and Andijan and the one we use for Osh ⇄ Tashkent (≈400 km, 7–8 hours door to door) and Osh ⇄ Andijan (60 km, 2–2.5 hours). As of 27 October 2026 the post is working normally; on busy days the Kyrgyz Border Service has reported 18,000–26,000 people a day against a capacity of about 16,400. We do it the reliable way: a Kyrgyz car to the post, you walk through both controls (usually 20–60 minutes), a second car with a name sign waits on the other side. From $120 per car (Andijan ⇄ Osh).
Is the Dostuk border open, and can foreigners use it?
Yes. Dostuk is an international road post, and on 27 October 2026 we found no closure notice. Note that in May 2026 Kun.uz reported three Kyrgyz–Uzbek checkpoints switching to 24-hour work, for citizens of Uzbekistan only; other travellers use the international crossings such as Dostuk.
What are the opening hours?
Reports differ: Uzbek media wrote in 2017 that Dustlik reopened round the clock, while a travellers’ table from December 2024 lists daytime hours. Because neither side publishes a current schedule we could verify, we only plan handovers in the daytime and confirm the post the day before.
When are the queues worst?
The Kyrgyz Border Service linked the August 2024 queues to wholesale market days in the Osh region (Tuesdays and Saturdays), students travelling, the tourist season and seasonal work; the post has 33 passport booths and separate lanes for people with and without goods. Avoid market days and the end of August if you can.
Why do you change cars at Dostuk?
Taxis and private cars rarely take passengers across this border, and a car crossing adds its own long queue. So we split it: our Kyrgyz driver helps with the bags to the gate, you walk through both controls, and our Uzbek partner’s driver waits with a name sign on the other side — one booking, one fixed price per car.
| Route | Distance · time | From |
|---|---|---|
| Osh → Tashkent | ≈400 km · 7–8 h | $280 |
| Andijan → Osh | 60 km · 2–2.5 h | $120 |
| Osh → Fergana | via Dostuk | $120 |
| Tashkent → Osh via Fergana Valley, 2 days | 480 km | $395 |
What documents do I need?
Your passport, and a visa where your nationality needs one for Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan — check our visa guide and the official portals. Customs may scan bags. Keep cash in both currencies small: exchange in Osh or Andijan, not at the post.
Bishkek to Tashkent through Dostuk — does that make sense?
Only if you want the south: Bishkek → Osh is a full day over two high passes, then Osh → Tashkent via Dostuk. The direct way is via Kazakhstan — see Bishkek to Tashkent.

Yes, Dostuk is an international road crossing. The three checkpoints that switched to 24-hour work in May 2026 serve citizens of Uzbekistan only (Kun.uz).
How long does the crossing take?
Usually 20–60 minutes on foot; much longer on Osh market days (Tuesday, Saturday) and in late August.
Does the same car drive me to Tashkent?
No — we hand over at the post: one car on each side, both with a name sign, one booking.
How much is Osh to Tashkent?
From $280 per car (sedan), $340 minivan, $380 4x4.
Is Dostuk open at night?
Reports differ and we could not verify a current official schedule, so we only plan daytime handovers.

New date or full refund — there is no other international crossing near Osh that we use instead.
