Kyrgyzstan–Tajikistan border: which crossings are open (27 October 2026)
After four years of closure the border reopened in March 2025. This page is status only — we do not sell KG–TJ crossings.

As of 27 October 2026 the Kyrgyzstan–Tajikistan border is open again at selected posts. After closure since spring 2021, Kyzyl-Bel (Batken – Isfara, Guliston on the Tajik side) and Kairagach resumed work on 13 March 2025, after the two presidents signed the border treaty. Kyzyl-Bel is multilateral, so third-country citizens may use it; Kairagach is for Kyrgyz and Tajik citizens only. On the Pamir Highway, Bor-Dobo / Kyzyl-Art is reported by travellers as open to foreigners. We do not sell the crossing; we drive from Osh towards Sary-Tash and the Alay valley.

Can foreigners cross at Kyzyl-Art on the Pamir Highway?
Travellers reported it open to foreigners in 2025. The Tajik side of the Pamir (Gorno-Badakhshan, GBAO) has its own entry rules — check them with Tajik official sources or our sister service RideTJ before you plan the trip.
Do you drive from Osh to Tajikistan?
No. We do not sell KG–TJ crossings. We drive on the Kyrgyz side — Osh → Sary-Mogol in the Alay valley or to the Lenin Peak base camp — where the Pamir Highway continues towards Kyzyl-Art.
Is there a 24-hour Kyrgyz–Tajik post?
We found no official confirmation of a 24-hour post for foreigners. The 24-hour regime reported by Kun.uz in May 2026 concerned three Kyrgyz–Uzbek posts and, per that report, citizens of Uzbekistan only — not the Tajik border.
