Kyrgyzstan border crossings: status on 27 October 2026
Which posts are open, which are daylight-only, which close for Chinese holidays — and which one to use for your route.

As of 27 October 2026 the busy Kazakhstan crossing Ak-Zhol / Korday works 24 hours; Karkyra / Kegen works in daylight only; Dostuk is the main Uzbek crossing near Osh; Torugart and Irkeshtam to China work on weekdays and close on Chinese holidays (most recently 19 June 2026); Kyzyl-Bel to Tajikistan reopened in March 2025. We drive door to door through Ak-Zhol and Karkyra, hand over at Dostuk, and only drive to the Kyrgyz side at Torugart and Irkeshtam.

Is the Kazakhstan border open at night?
Ak-Zhol / Korday is the only Kazakhstan crossing we treat as 24-hour; we cross at night with no surcharge for the border. Karkyra / Kegen is a daylight post: plan to reach it by mid-afternoon. Details and queue times: Korday guide, Karkara guide.
Can I cross from Kyrgyzstan to China or Tajikistan with you?
Not as a door-to-door product. For China we drive you to the Kyrgyz side (Irkeshtam) or to Naryn and Tash-Rabat on the Torugart road; for Tajikistan we do not sell crossings on this site — our sister service RideTJ works on the Tajik side.
Where do I check the status myself?
Kyrgyz media (24.kg, Economist.kg) publish closures from the State Border Service, usually one to three days ahead; the sources we used are listed below with dates.
