The road
Via Balykchy and Kochkor, then over the Dolon pass (3,030 m) on asphalt. In winter Dolon is ploughed but can close for a few hours in snowstorms.

- Kel-Suu needs a border-zone permit applied for at least a week ahead — we can arrange it.

Yes: Naryn → Tash-Rabat is a day trip by 4x4 or minivan; Torugart needs a Chinese-side transport booking and permit.
Is the Dolon pass safe in winter?
It is the main road to China and is kept open; we use winter tyres and chains, and move departure if a storm closes it.
