The road
Kuldzhinsky tract east through Shelek and Chundzha, the last 10 km on a park road to the rim car park.
Worth stopping
- Valley of Castles rim and the walk down to the river (1.5–2 hours return).
- Black Canyon or Moon Canyon on the way back (+$20).
Good to know
- Leave at 7:00 to walk the canyon before midday heat in summer.
- Park entry about 840 tenge per person plus an eco-taxi to the river if you do not want to walk.
