Every fare page for Kyrgyzstan is either undated or contradicts the next one. This one shows the conflicts instead of hiding them, names each source, and says which figure to budget for.
Where two sources disagree we print both and flag it, because a single confident wrong number is worse than an honest range. The rule of thumb: an official tourist-board page tends to quote the fare from whenever it was written, and a dated traveller report tends to quote what was actually handed over. Budget for the traveller report.
They leave when full, not on a timetable, except on the few routes where a DMO has published one (Jyrgalan, Ak-Suu). You pay the driver, in som, in cash, usually on arrival. Large trekking bags sometimes attract a small extra charge — 30 som on the Ak-Suu run. Shared taxis sit alongside them at the same stations, cost roughly twice as much, and go sooner.

These are reference figures collected from public sources and travellers' own reports, not quotes — RideKG sells nothing. Drivers negotiate, fuel moves, and a bad road year changes everything. Treat them as the number to start haggling from.
Nobody publishes departure points and times for the Song-Kul side — Kochkor, Kyzart, Naryn — the way Karakol's are documented. If you know them, tell us.
Bishkek city buses are 17 som cashless and 20 som cash as of 1 July 2026. Karakol city marshrutkas are 20 som; a taxi from the bus station into town starts around 100 som for the car.
